The 2011 Oscars - Post #2

It seems like one of the only red carpet people I missed is Reese Witherspoon...the rest are from the show and I'll post some more later today from the parties.

Reese Witherspoon:
I hate the hair. It's so Barbie. I mean, not that I wish my hair weren't that thick and bouncy, but barely any of it is hers. She has short hair now, doesn't she?

The dress is boring. It's weird, but ever since Julia Roberts wore that vintage black and white dress, any black and white dress reminds me of it. Here is an example of that.

I don't know. There's nothing wrong with it, per se, it's just really boring.

Anne Hathaway - Dress change #1:
A little stuffy, for my taste. But not un-pretty. It's too bad she came off as such a dork that night. And just trying to protect us from James Franco's douchiness.

Melissa Le0 - Best Supporting Actress:
My brilliant friend wrote me "holy earlobes" when Kurt Douglas came on. I responded that I'm pretty sure that comes when you're of biblical age. No?

I hate that I have to see her dress again. I honestly don't think I would hate it nearly as much if it FIT her. But it didn't. At all. Gross.

Also, super classy F-bomb during the acceptance speech.

Christian Bale - Best Supporting Actor:
One of the best acceptance speeches I've ever heard. In fact, I have shivers right now just writing about it. He said the most beautiful thing about his wife, he alluded to his previous flying off the handle episodes. It was really nice. He seemed sincerely honored to have won the Oscar

Anne Hathaway - Change #2:
Cute? I don't know. She looks amazing. And she had custom beaded Brian Atwoods on. But him in that dress is kind of upsetting to me.

Anne Hathaway - Dress Change #3:
Probably the most underwhelming of all the dresses. And her hair! Oh god, her hair. It was awful. I don't know. I didn't love this dress. The bottom got lost in the stage.

Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law:
Oh RDJ. Why are you so wonderful? They were very cute. I almost want them to have a breakfast talk show. I would watch that.

Anne Hathaway - Dress Change #4:
Love the fringe. I love fringe. And she looks like she's having fun. Unlike the human bong standing next to her.

Zachary Levi & Mandy Moore:
Um, his skin color - on his face exclusively - is really not ok. I can deal with the arm. It looks natural. But his face. OMG. That ridic.

And Mandy looks much prettier here than she did all severe on the red carpet. The blue is gorge too.

Aaron Sorkin - Best Adapted Screenplay:
He made some adorable comment about his daughter's rodent needing to respect him now that he had an Oscar. Isn't that cute?

If you haven't watched West Wing or the very brief Studio 60 on Sunset, please do. The dialogue is classic Sorkin. Mad brilliant.

Anne Hathaway - Dress Change #5:
This dress was gorgeous. I wasn't in love with the waterfalls of chiffon sprouting out of it, it looks a little too concentrated and almost disease-like, but it's a gorgeous color.

Anne Hathaway - Dress Change #6:
I don't love this. It's a bit too 80's for me. Too bad, had potential.

Oprah:
BOOBS!
That is all.

Billy Crystal:
Apparently Billy's humour was a welcome change over the dullness of the other 2 hosts, but really, guy needs to stop putting things in his face, because he's approaching freak show in looks.

Anne Hathaway - Dress Change #7:
Tom Ford. Mmmm. I don't LOVE a turtleneck, but she looks amazing and sleek and totally glam. Puurrrr.
Love Tom Ford.
