The 2011 Golden Globe Awards

It's the Golden Globes! The pre-cursor to the Oscar's! The winners who come out of this show more often than not hint at who will win at the Oscar's, unless there is some insane chain of events where nominees turn into major jerks...

Let's see what everyone wore and if the gunmetal craze of the Critic's Choice Awards continued...

Amber Riley:
GUNMETAL. I win. Ok, I'm being a little premature, but she looks AMAZING. Except for the bangs. Those bangs are awful on her. I feel like they could have been better if they weren't curled under like that...yuck.

But the dress is heaven. HEAVEN. It drapes her curves perfectly and the belt is a perfect addition. Gorge. Shave her head though.

Amy Adams:
I feel like she's worn this before. Hasn't she? Like, maybe it was green? HA! I love being right. It's definitely not the exact same, but the idea is similar. It's very pretty though. I don't love her hair though, because my hair often looks like that but less good. Therefore I'm bitter.

Have you seen 'The Fighter'? She's great in it.

Angelina Jolie:
I think it's better if I don't get started.

This dress is horrible. It's a continuation of her hot mess of a press tour for 'the Tourist'.

She is a disgrace to her model-esque body.

Anne Hathaway:
Best dressed? Did Rachel Zoe do it again? I think she did. It was backless, it was sexy and it combined metallics and pink. Win.

Her hair looked great, healthy and shiny. Nice Anne. Nice.

Carrie Underwood:
What a bitch. Ha ha. IF you don't remember why I hate her, look at this post.

I actually like her dress though. Crap. She's so damn pretty. It doesn't fit great at the waist though.

Bitch.

Catherine Zeta-Jones:
Dramatic dress from a woman who hasn't done anything in 5 years. But it's pretty. I mean, it looks like she's wearing a bedazzled backdrop that is supposed to be a hill, but it's still nice. And it was nice to see Michael Douglas with a bit more weight on him.

Christina Aguilera:
Speaking of more weight on people (best segue ever) - Um. This dress is wholly unflattering. Wow. It's really bad. I would have looked great on January Jones (we'll get to that mess later), but on her it looks too tight, tacky and forced.

Not to mention her make-up. AGAIN. Why can't her make-up artist find a shade of foundation that blends better with her neck? It's really bad. And while she looks less wasted than we've seen her recently, it's still daylight. And she wasn't inside yet. The cocktails flow inside.

She needs her mommy or something. I'm scared for her.

Dianna Agron:
The hair is not doing it for me. It's very vintagey. Like, 'Pearl Harbor' vintagey. And I don't know why this picture is so dark. It's bothering me.

The dress is very soft and pretty, but it's falling down a bit at the bodice and it seems to be cutting her boobs in half and that weird waist detail makes her look like she's mothered 4 children. Recently.

Pink though. Pink again.

Elisabeth Moss:
She looks bored, no? Maybe she looked in the mirror and saw her hair and make-up. Blah. I'm sleepy when I look above her neck. Below her neck I like the color (green again), but it doesn't fit well below her boobs. Did people not have time for tailoring this year? Blech.

Great earrings though.

Emma Stone:
Where did the real Emma Stone go? Who is this emaciated, blonde, super-tanned thing? In a (duh, it screams CK) Calvin Klein gown...a radioactive peach gown. I don't hate it, honestly, but I feel like it would look much better on someone with darker hair.

I feel like she got seriously tanned to balance out the gown color, but it's very distracting...I don't know...I expect more from her. And seriously, I hope she eats something, I'm not digging this look at all.

Eva Longoria:
For real, I fell asleep looking at this picture. BLAH. Adding those swirly brooches at the waist doesn't make it not black.

Also, her boobs look weird. Gross.

Gabourey Sidibe:
I swear to god, my grandmother had a night gown (with an invisible zip closure up the center) with this pattern. It's not good.

Considering how amazingly she did last year, this is baaaaddd. Especially those white nana shoes. Blech.

Halle Berry:
Um, why am I not her? It's really not fair. Bracelets were definitely the accessory of the evening, with earrings. Necklaces are so passé. WTF am I going to do with all my necklaces now? Shit.

No, but for real, Halle Berry is so goddam beautiful and perfect...but I do kind of find this dress and the shoes very Jennifer Aniston in terms of black blah-ness...still, so hot.

Heidi Klum:
Um, judging from her eye make-up Heidi has been enjoying the cocktails at an all inclusive this week...that would explain her dress. It's a little too casual for the Golden Globes...and her bracelets are super inappropriate. It's not good. She's gorge, but it's not good. Try to find a pic of her make-up close up...it's AWFUL. She looks like a clown.

Helena Bonham Carter:
Remember how the other day I was talking about how awesome Tilda Swinton is?

I do not feel the same about unmatched-shoes-rattail-hairdo Carter. Blech.

January Jones:
Is this woman on CRACK? Fringe bottom and boob stripes??!?! HOLY MOTHER OF JUDAS. Or whoever.

It's great that she has the body to pull this off, because she really, really does, but it's so tacky, so tasteless and so...porn. I would not be shocked to see someone show up at those porn awards in this dress.

Holy hell woman.

Jenna Ushkowitz:
Perfect, lovely, graceful, elegant, beautiful. The color is gorgeous, her hair looks amazing, the dress fits perfectly...

I love it.

But, just one thing - her hands look tiny, no? Like creepy tiny?

Jennifer Lopez:
I don't understand. Was she going to a more conservative Mexican catholic version of the Golden Globes? That shawl/poncho thing is weird. And her make-up was a bit much...it was very frosty and very white and up close looked a little freaky.

Jennifer Love Hewitt:
Why was she invited? Oh right, because she got nominated for her awful lifetime movie about a woman who works at a rub 'n' tug massage parlor to help pay for her bills. Really. I'm not lying.

I feel like the dress was an attempt to cover up something...whereas I like the super pale blue color, the fit at the bust is gross and her hair looks ridiculous.

Johnny Depp:
Just look at the picture.
Enjoy.

Julianne Moore:
OH MY GOD WOMAN WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? Seriously, did someone put LSD in the water in LA? WTF is she wearing? That sleeve is one of the fugliest details I've ever seen on a garment. Ever.

I don't love red heads in pink....their skin tone, etc is just not made for it. Need I say more? Case in point.

Though, pink again.

Julie Bowen:
Um, how about some color friend? Aside from the really drab color, the dress is great. But it looks tea-dyed and we have actual dye now, don't we? The kind that kills animals in foreign countries?

Justin Bieber:
I can't decide if this is post-3-day-heroin-bender or sulky teenager. And really, running shoes at the GG's? Who do you think you are? Trousersnake?

Kaley Cuoco:
I'm making the call of an old lady's dressy living room curtains. no? They always had those in the Sears catalog. It frightens me to think that people may actually have that in their living room. I don't want to go to those houses. Or Kaley Cuoco's dress.

Though, it is Peaches 'n' Cream Barbie licious. You knew I was going to say that, didn't you?

Kelly Osbourne:
Another yawn. And I don't like that cut...it's awkward. And it doesn't look like it was on purpose. It looks like someone said, 'oh shiz, this dress doesn't fit her! OMG! Find some bloody fabric! What about that grey piece over there? No! I know it doesn't fit, just sew it in!"

And, scene.

Lea Michele:
Pink again. Ok, so I was off on the gunmetal. Pink. Very pretty, a little too crinkly for my taste, and her hair is too pretty...she looks really happy though, and that makes me like it more.

Leighton Meester:
I don't love it, but I like that it's patterned and I like the high neck and the strong shoulder that people are lying about, saying Angelina Jolie pulled it off...She pulled nothing off compared to Leighton.

Though I will say that her purse is way too long and her hair is kinda lank. Yuck.

Mandy Moore:
Love it. I really do. The color is fab, it fits her very well, but I still kind of don't understand why she's there. What has she done since Scrubs? Either way. I love me some blue. She wears it well.

Maria Menounos:
She's so skinny! I mean, think about it. That dress has all those fabric layers, so it adds girth and look how tiny she looks. I'm no expert, but if you were her stylist/make-up artist or something, wouldn't you whisper, 'enough with the chin.'? It's enough already, and you make it REALLY prominent all the time. We get it, you're chinny.

Megan Fox:
Pink.
Wow, I really don't like this dress. It's so boring and so ugly at the same time. And the pink....that Pepto pink. And really though, the girl needs to stop doing stuff to her face. It's distracting.

Michelle Williams:
Without a word of a lie I said, "ugh! What the hell, woman?" When I saw this picture this morning. I think that sums it up nicely.

It looks like a shower curtain from 1977.

Mila Kunis:
Green. Pink or green. Well, at least I look good in green. She looks good. Relly cute. And it's nice, because she hasn't been so present at awards shows that you're used to seeing her in every look. This is new, on her. Though it's giving me 'Amy Adams' again...I don't know why. Very pretty though. Love her.

Natalie Portman:
So cute. The dress is really pretty, and cute and it is a lovely maternity piece and I like the rose detail and the tie-back to the clutch. The necklace looks pretty with it too. I don't love the lipstick, but I can't take that away from her. She won!

Have you seen 'Black Swan'? She deserved to win. I shrieked through a good part of that movie. Shuddder!

Naya Riviera:
This girl's body is mental. And she looks great in that pink. Her skin tone looks amazing, she's glowing, and her hair is nice and soft.

Part of me kind of wonders if that pouf thing is in her hair though...is it?
Nicole Kidman:
How to look thin - surrogate mother. Nic and Keith announced this morning that they've 'given birth' to another daughter. Biological, through a surrogate, they have another little girl. I'm not sure if I would do that. Give away something you've nurtured for so long in your body...

Just so she can look like that. It makes her shoulders look wide though...or it's the way she's holding them...not great.

Olivia Wilde:
I honestly can't remember the last time I didn't like a Marchesa gown. It's gorgeous. I love the taupe into black, so dramatic, so lovely. I kind of wish her hair was up...especially with those bangs...I feel like the straight hair complicates the look unnecessarily...it makes it less easy to take.

Robert Downey Jr.:
I know, I know, and his wife.
The suit is a little Pee Wee, no?

Ryan Kwanten:
This guy is so good on 'True Blood'...not because he's a great actor, I don't suspect it takes much to be his character, aside from a really strict diet and hours in the gym, but he is so funny. I put this picture in because I love the velvet bow tie. It's a nice touch in a sea of bland tuxes and Pee Wee suits...

Sandra Bullock:
Maybe I win a bit because it looks to be pink and gunmetal. I don't like this dress, I think she looked a lot better last year, and I'm not sure that I love the really long shaggy bangs...they're really long...

No, just scrolled up again. I like the dress. It's really pretty. I just kind of wish it was a blouse with jeans, instead. Wouldn't that be cute?

Scarlett Johansson:
Kind of ironic that they're one after another when the tabs are blowing up about them being in a fight because Sandy is bf's with Ryan Reynolds. And then they wore practically the same dress...like really, it's almost the same dress. I like Sandy's better because ScarJo's hair is weird. IT looks like she slept on it.

Sofia Vergara:
Gorgeous. It clashes a bit with the carpet, but it fits her well, it's appropriately glamorous, and the jewelry is perfect. I wonder what shoes she's wearing. I like the detail at the chest, that it sweeps up at the sides, it's really flattering to her.

Tilda Swinton:
Are those cowboy boots sticking out there?! I hope they are!! I love that she's really pale and she chose to go with super pastel, pale colors.

God I love her.
