Teen Choice Awards 2010

So the Teen Choice awards happened the other night. Is it just me, or are the celebrities kind of quasi celebrities this year? Normally there's a Cameron Diaz or a Jack Black or something...this year, not so much.

In fact, I read that some upper echelon celebrities refused to walk the red carpet because they believe it's being devalued by twits such as Levi Johnston and the (fabulous) Jersey Shore tools. That's kind of funny...but kind of true, no?

Ashley Green:
For someone who is crazy thin, this dress makes her look fat. It's squeezing her in all the wrong places and not flattering at all on the waist. It doesn't make her less cute. I think she's a great pic for Alice Cullen because she has that tiny elven nose on her face.

But she also has underarm fat spillover. Not cool.

Heather Morris:
Thank god for the lack of alphabet variation in this event. I added this picture late and only had to slide it down one notch because there is no one between Ashley Green and Heather. Phew. So lazy.

I like this girl on Glee. She is pretty darn funny and comes out with these quiet little one liners that are very funny. I do not, however, like what she is wearing. It is really, really not good. There is no point in wearing that top with a skirt. It really belongs with leather pants or something. Other than that I like the skirt and I feel the shoes are lacking structure. And height. They could be a good deal higher, no? They look almost flat from this angle. They could be.

Her hair is cute though...

Hilary Duff:
I like this girl, I think. She is not stick thin, she's still considered hot and she hasn't disappeared. I do not, however, like her hair. That is the hair I do when I am having an awful day, am spending it on the couch and everything else impedes my head's placement on the sofa cushion. That is not awards show hair. That is not hair that goes with Hervé Leger.

Poorly done Hils. Not cool.

Jayma Mays:
Weird name, but SO cute. If you don't watch 'Glee', consider it. I found the season a little long and it started to get a little too ridiculous and campy toward the end of the season (or 2nd half) but it is still something different and it's not reality TV...so there.

She looks positively lovely in this yellow dress and I love the belt, it's a nice touch. I'm not nuts about almond toe shoes in general, but they're cute. I find them a bit too 'period' for the outfit though. They date it...I don't know. Don't like the shoes. Rest is good.

Kim Kardashian:
Hasn't she worn this dress, or some very similar permutation of this dress before? One shoulder, one long sleeve, too tight, too short and black? I'm sure she has worn at least one version of this. Ok, I'll Google it. God you guys are demanding.

Ha! Wasn't wrong. This girl likes one shoulder dresses a bit too much:
Here and here and here and here and here. Oh! And THIS, just the other damn day. Come on bitch! Try something original!

Kristen Bell:
This is original. I hate it, but it's original. She often struggles with proportion, so for that, I'm happy. But that doesn't make it less ugly. The shoes are also not rocking my world... But I'm more obsessed with the fact that she was forced to do her photo shoot in what appears to be the loser section of the red (blue) carpet...the back drop is blowing in the wind, there are sand bags there...How embarrassing.

Lea Michele:
Lainey called it. Those are Chinese hooker shoes. They make her look like a Chinese hooker. Or at least cheap. They're too bit and too strappy and too tall. It's a bad combo. She looks otherwise fab and the dress is great. I love the dress. Her hair is also lovely, though I'm not loving the full bang. They make her chin look too pointy. Either way. Yay on dress. Rest not so much.

Leighton Meester:
Those shoes are RIDICULOUS. So dumb. It's like they came in a Barbie dressing gown set or something. Like, that could have easily be marabou, you know. The dress is, well, it's something. It looks...heavy. And mod. No, I've decided that I don't like it. It's pretty and all, but the white is icky and I don't like it. So there. Jerks.

Mark Salling:
I think I might be over this dressy clothes with sneakers thing...but he's not really that dressy, so it's still cute. I like this outfit. I would love to coerce my husband into wearing something like this. It'll never happen. The jeans alone would be impossible. He has gigantic legs and butt...muscularly...still those jeans would never work. Oh my god, what is wrong with me? I am so tangenty tonight.

Anyhoo, I love the top half, it's super cute. I'm really loving the resurgence of skinnier ties (thank you 'Mad Men')

Matthew Morrison:
If only the shirt had a little less sheen. I think the boots are FABULOUS. And I love them with the jeans and the belt (the jeans are actually a bit too shiny too, but I can get over that). I just find the ruggedness of the boots and belt are too juxtaposed by that shiny shirt. I love the pattern, I love the color. I just don't love the fact that it looks like a bridesmaid's dress or a throw pillow waiting to happen.

Megan Fox:
Girl needs to stop f-ing with her face. For reals. It's a bit too much. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her outfit though. It's perfect for the Teen Choice awards. Just the right mix of casual and dressy, her hair is perfect. It's very good. I think she might even be my fave of the evening.

Nina Dobrev:
Ugh, I just accidentally closed my browser and thought I lost everything. Wow, what a relief that it's still here. Thanks Blogger! (lame). Anyhoo, I don't really want to care who this girl is, but she's Canadian and we gotta give our peeps the props, so here it is: Yay what's-your-face!

I actually really love this dress, it's super pretty. I feel like she could have done something chunkier and less matchy matchy with the shoe though...that silver prom/stripper heel is not doing it for me. I would have liked a strong black cage or something. Or even gunmetal. Ooh. That would be nice.

Physically, she's obviously hot and has great hair. She actually looks like a stretched out (vertically) Emmanuelle Chriqui...very pretty.

Sandra Bullock and Betty White:
How hot is Betty White? She is awesome. But I cannot ignore the fact that Sandra is full on rocking those leather pants. Oh my god, I want to look like that. I wish that had been my outfit for my 30th birthday party. And I wish that was my hair. Wow. Fantastic. I hope I am 10% that hot when I am her age. And been through as much junk as she has.

Betty White wins for hottest. I can't believe I almost gave it to Megan Fox. Duh.

`Selena Gomez:
I seriously almost fell asleep looking at this picture. While the dress is pretty, I hate it with those shoes, actually - I just hate those shoes. Those are really ugly shoes. I am overpowered by those hideous glitter boot shoes.

Blech.

Well, that's it. It was kind of disappointing, but we got to make fun of people, so that's ok. That's really all that matters.
