2010 Emmy Awards!

Ok, wow. Just finding all the pics for this took me over an hour, this is going to to be a LOONNNG post. It'll probably take up all of page 1 of Skankopolis.

Check out this vid too of the best moments:

I'm a little bit excited.

Ok, a lot.

Alexander Skarsgard, Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer:
True Blood is awesome. Watch it.

Alexander Skarsgard is awesome, and crazy tall. Watch him. Anna Paquin wears odd things and Stephen Moyer's fake southern accent makes me sleepy. All in all it's the perfect balance of stimulating and restful.
Anna Paquin's dress and shoes are a bit heavy, considering the heat wave that's hitting right now, but she does dramatic. That's what she does. I like the beaded shoulders though...
Amber Riley:
How beautiful and elegant! And so flattering! The color makes her skin glow, the line nips in her waist and emphasizes her figure. So cute. And she's so cute.

Amy Poehler & Will Arnett:
Is it wrong that I'm happier to see Will in this picture than Amy? She just had another baby and she looks great. I don't love the color or the weave-y business on the front, but she is glowing. He is glowing like he was left in a radioactive tanning bed and his eyes look a little wonk, but he makes me laugh, so it's all good.

Angela Kinsey:
I don't know what genius came up with the idea to make this woman the spokesperson for their hair product. I don't relate at all. I am really stuck to the character she plays on The Office and I don't consider her bright and bubbly or believable as the hair color pimper.

This dress, while severe, is actually quite lovely, but so damn black. It's the Emmy's, not the Oscars. Take it down a notch.

Betty White:
How do you not love Betty White? If you don't, go die. No one likes you.

Bryan Cranston & Aaron Paul:
I can't believe Bryan Cranston won again. This is his third year in a row! Now, admittedly, Tim Whatley is one of the best characters to ever have graced television, but - no, seriously, he's really good on Breaking Bad. It's a really good show. I'm really happy Aaron Paul won too, he's great on that show.

Um, they wore tuxes and neither of them are Tom Ford, so I don't care. Ha ha. Mmmm, Tom Ford.

Chris Colfer:
Could he be any more adorable? I love him in the opening sequence. I love him on Glee, I love him in real life. He has a sister who is really sick and disabled and when he started making money with Glee he got her a really expensive surgery that will hopefully make her life better...how amazing is that? LOVE him.

Christina Hendricks:
I love this color. She looks amazing in this color. She is a stunningly gorgeous woman with amazing skin and beautiful hair. And FANTASTIC breasts. I love the color of this dress and it fits her beautifully. The only thing I don't love is the sleeves...they're a little too long and they look a bit dowdy.

Gorge! I even love her pose here, all open mouth sexpot.

Claire Danes:
I looked at this picture and I thought to myself that Claire Danes has never looked better. NEVER. She looks amazing. Her relationship with this Hugh Dancy person seems to be making her so happy and glowy and beautiful. And that dress is KILLER. Gorgeous. I frigging love it.

Fantastic Claire Danes. FANTASTIC.

Conan O'Brien and the Mrs:
Wow, his hair is not a joke. That is a big something on the top of his head. His wife is cute too. They look cute together. Remember when Courtney Cox and Conan dated for a while? That was weird. I want him to be on TV again. I miss him.

Corey Monteith:
Man in suit not really exciting, but I felt like the Glee cast really deserved attention this night. Plus, he's Canadian. And charitable. He's a good kid who is doing good things with his fame. Awww. What's with me today?

Dianna Agron:
This dress is a bit much. It's very pretty, but it is definitely a bit much. She's consistently doing a bit too much. Her hair looks slightly messy and her make-up is really pretty. I just wish she was wearing something more goddessy.

Edie Falco:
She's amazing. I watched Nurse Jackie on my own, without my hub and it's so witty, I really like it. I don't love the subject matter with the infidelity and such, but I love her so much. She's such a good, convincing actress and you really believe her in everything she does.

I love this dress on her. It's a great cut and while I think the black is too severe she looks fantastic in it. Her hair looks great too, and her skin is glowing. Wow. I hope I look that good when I'm her age.

Elisabeth Moss:
Did you watch West Wing?

This woman played Martin Sheen's daughter (as in daughter of the president). She was good on that show. On Mad Men, I don't get her. I have not watched all of it (only a couple of episodes, to be honest) but I don't get her as a sex symbol...unless it's purely as the new girl in the office. I don't find her that pretty.

I find her interesting. But like, kind of like her face is older than the rest of her...you know? She has a Diane Weist look about her...Anyhoo, the dress is very lovely, but the color totally washes her out. I could see it in a peacock-y blue...or a pale blue. I like blue.

Old lady hair.

Emily Blunt & Jon Krasinkski:
Freshly married, so cute. There were a few other pictures of them looking more posed, but I took this one because they look like they're having a good time and that makes me happy.

She always wears something special. This dress is very beautiful, but I'm not sure about the little white things...they look like growths. Still, the color and the cut are beautiful. And her hair and make-up are fab. And Jon looks mantastic in that retro tux. I like the pale bow-tie. Very fresh.

Eva Longoria-Parker:
Um, is that foundation as lipstick? It's not doing it for me. This dress is very pretty, though again, I don't appreciate the black, I think it could have been better in a steely grey or a color. I love the skirt though, it looks so rich with all those brocade-y flowers on it.

Her hair is very pretty, and her earrings are massive...but the whole look is giving me déja vu...like isn't this what she ALWAYS wears? Is that why she looks so bloody unhappy?

George Clooney & Elisabetta Cannalis:
He won a lifetime achievement-esque award. Obviously for his time on The Facts Of Life. Awesome. That time was mullet-tastic. George looks a little crotchety here...and from what I can tell he didn't do the red carpet.

All reports say that he's over Hollywood and doesn't want to deal with the crap anymore, so that explains his behaviour. If I were Elisabetta though, I'd be slightly bitter because she only got together with him after he was over it. Before that he had a bevy of cocktail waitresses on all the carpets for years. Bitter.

Heather Morris:
Queen of the brilliant one liners on Glee, and very cute. That dress looks like it weighs 300 lbs though. Imagine how uncomfortable it would be to sit in that all night? I'm sure parts of it pick through and poke your thighs. Ick.

Very fresh and pretty, if not a little overdone considering it's her first year and she's not nominated for anything...

Heidi Klum & Seal:
Seal's face is killing me in this picture. He looks so cranky and possibly gassy. Heidi looks great, but we need to learn this girl that she doesn't always need to wear pumps. Why is she the only person in the world who hasn't embraced the whole caged sandal phenomenon? Come on!

The rest of her is basic, again, this is the night of déja vu's because I feel like I've seen this before.

Jane Krakowski:
She has lemon face even more than Renée Zelwegger. But I forgive her because her character on 30 Rock is brilliant. And hilarious. It's all Tina Fey. RZ should hook herself up with Tina and make herself better.

I really like this dress. It's deep and dark without being black, it has amazing texture and shine to the fabric and it's asymmetric and well constructed and fits her like a glove. Well done Jane. Very well done.

Jane Lynch:
This woman is all sorts of classic. I almost expected to see her wearing an Adidas track suit on the red carpet. If you haven't seen A Mighty Wind, go download/rent it because she is BRILLIANT in it. Like, you will be on the floor laughing at her character.

Her hair looks really good here, and it rarely has any style. It's soft and pretty and the dress is really nice, it's very pretty and soft. Very lovely look.

And she won. Which makes it even better.

January Jones:
Um, what is with her hair? Did she not have a brush? It's all over the place, like she took a nap in the back of her limo or something. Yikes.

The dress is...well, the dress is definitely unique. And to be honest, it's not that I don't like it, because I love blue and it's all sorts of interesting, so I find it intriguing, but at the same time it's a bit weird. It's really large when no one else's dresses have that much skirt and the weird cone bra area seems too small.

And she just kind of looks out of it, doesn't she? I don't know. I am not sure I am happy with her being cast as Emma Frost.

Jayma Mays:
If you don't think she is adorable then you suck. She is ADORABLE. I love her. Those big eyes, her tiny-ness. She's just so cute. And honestly, she is one of the best dressed for this event. She nailed it. Her dress is great, her hair is great, her jewelry is great. She looks really fantastic. I want to know who designed that...ok Google! Burberrry. Lovely. Really damn lovely.

Jenna Fischer:
This is, by all accounts, the best she's ever looked. Ever. Her hair looks different, for once, it normally looks exactly like Pam's on the Office...and while this isn't un-Pam, it's still not full Pam, so I applaud it.

The color is mind blowing. It's so bright and fun and really gorge. Watermelon! I love it. She really looks great. Now, if only she wouldn't always look like she's being put out by being invited to these things...

Jenna Ushkowitz:
Again, a Glee kid. I really love this dress. I essentially have it in burnt orange, but knee length. It's universally flattering. She looks great in it. The shoes are very interesting too, I want to see more of them. And I love her ponytail, it's perfect for the event, and for her age. Lovely.

Jennifer Carpenter:
Ok, so I see she didn't do any eating in the off-season. Yeesh. However, I will give it to her that her brand new husband and colleague (Michael C Hall of Dexter) got lymphoma and wasn't doing well at all, so she could be distracted...

I really like this dress, but would have much preferred it if it wasn't a full sleeve on the sleeved side. I would prefer a tank...the dark shade of the dress would have kept the fall mood and the could have looked less unbalanced, though the hair does help with that...

Fine. I like it. But only because of the hair.

Jewel:
Her facial expression in this photo makes me think that she feels how I do about her being there...uh, why? Did she sing on something?

That dress looks like a wedding dress dipped in tea and I don't like it or her. She reminds me of the 90's and that was an awkward time. Also, then I hear her voice in my head and it makes me want to pull out my eyeballs with a melon baller. Boo!!

Jimmy Fallon & the Mrs:
They are super cute. They are also super orange. No? Like they did the post-rehab spray tan method. She's cute though. And so happy. And Jimmy is a funny guy. And has a great singing voice. No?

Jon Hamm & Jennifer Westfeldt:
How cute are they? And really, who cares about her? Jon Hamm is so cute!!! No, fine, she's cute too and I love her dress. It looks like molten silver is dripping off her and her hair is nice and soft.

But look, Jon Hamm. Mmmm.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus:
Looking fab as usual. Kind of annoying that she got nominated and her show got cancelled the same year. It was a good show and it didn't really get to wrap up because of the way they cancelled it. It was a very weird ending and I got no closure.

So far hers is the only black gown that I've liked, and I think it's because it doesn't look heavy or wintery. The mesh panel helps...which is odd, I didn't think I'd ever say that about a mesh panel...but the jewelry - OH MY - the jewelry is so stunning and so summery that it makes the whole look fresh and not dark or dreary. Well done as usual madam.

Juliana Marguiles:
Sometimes I forget she's still around. I mean, she's not the most exciting person in the world and won't she always be George Clooney's annoying nurse girlfriend on ER to you? Remember how awful her hair was back then? A full triangle of frizzy, tight curls. Yikes. Much better now. And her eyebrows are much better.

She needs to eat a sandwich, but I don't hate this look at all, it's very pretty. I love the rain effect of the silver on the black...though with everything else black tonight, I feel like it could have been a color. Maybe a deep purple or something. Just seems so easy to go with black, no?
Julie Benz:
I have never, EVER been so glad to see a character die on a TV show before. Seriously, I don't even know how those writers sat in that room and wrote for that character without stabbing each other. She was SO annoying.

And she is really beautiful, but after watching her for so many years I couldn't see the pretty anymore, I just saw irritating and self righteous. And it's not going away. I still hate her.

I think the dress is ok. Not great, but ok. At least it's not black. And it's a nice fabric. The necklace is overkill, but the whole look is freshish.

Kelly Osbourne:
Her hair is yellow. Not blonde. Not white blond. Yellow. I am having significant troubles getting over that.

On the other hand. I like this dress. Even though it's black. I love the detail on the skirt and the fabric is opaque but not heavy and it's really quite lovely on her. But her hair. Oh god. Really terrible.

Keri Russell:
Why is she invited to something like this? And why is she wearing a dress that is too short and doesn't fit in the bust? And why did she borrow Jennifer Aniston's shoes? And why is she wearing her hair like she's getting married on a beach? And whose great idea was it to dye the dress the same color as bubblegum?

Ugh. So many questions, so few answers. Blech.

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick:
I'm surprised they could afford to come to this event. Don't they have, like, no money right now? Didn't they get everything ripped off in a ponzi-esque scheme? Is that why the toes of his shoes are all scuffed and her dress doesn't really fit and she's using a sunglasses case from Aldo as a purse?

I can't be mean, I feel bad for them.

Kevin McHale:
How slick is he in this picture? Fantastic. Remember when he was on The Office and was the pizza boy they 'kidnapped'? Brilliant. Glee kid. Great voice, I really loved his Billy Idol this season.

Kim Kardashian:
Mmm, not at all surprising, but too much. The dress is pretty, but a bit too overdone on the theme and the hair is alright, but only if it wasn't with this dress. The two together are too on theme and they look fake.

To be really honest, Amber Riley did this look MUCH better. That can't feel good for Kim.

Lauren Graham:
Despite her hair looking like mine does when I just wake up, she looks good-ish. I don't know, I don't like the dress, it's a little too architectural and Wonder Woman-y. I think she has to hold
her left arm like that to make the dress look good and then she's wearing all the cuff, and too many rings. It's a bit much.

Lea Michele:
This girl is so cute, but she tries way too hard. Take this picture, really look at it, then try to go recreate this pose in your full length mirror. It will hurt. Trust me, I tried it. I couldn't figure out how she was doing this, so I tried.

Not unlike Dianna Agron, she's trying too hard. You're young. Really young. And you're not nominated for anything. Try a little less hard and have fun or you'll never have good memories of this. The dress is gorge, as is the necklace, but it would look so much better on Susan Sarandon or Eva Longoria...it's too old and too dressy for such a pretty young thing.

Lo Bosworth:
She must really like Mad Men, because she dressed like a receptionist from the show. Now, one thing I do like is that she's not taking herself so seriously that she's wearing a gown, BUT, this dress is too tight, it's hospital scrubs colored and it's very unflattering, so points off for all those.

Then, like January Jones, it looks like she napped in the limo on the way there and her hair is all mussed. It's not good. Do they not have people near the limos with boar bristle brushes and hairspray? They should. My idea. Stamped it. No erasies.
Maria Menounos:
This girl's best feature is her hair, and she has it all twisted up and hidden. Clearly her second best feature is her crazy body, because that is some hard dress to pull of and she's doing it. Only it's not the XXX Vivid awards, it's the Emmy's and I find this a little classless. Am I alone? Or am I just getting old?

PS - I've heard her natural laugh, not the one she puts on for the TV show, sounds like a machine gun and "makes you want to punch her in the throat". Isn't that great?

Mariska Hargitay:
SO BORING.
And what is with her comb-over?

I saw one of those in a pool yesterday and it was very unpleasant when wet and no longer combed-over. I imagine hers would be the same.

Mark Salling:
This kid is from Glee too. But, in my humble opinion, he's the hottest. Maybe not in this photo though. Yikes.

Mindy Kalling:
I am kind of wondering if this outfit is a joke. Considering that she's a comedian and she's pretty darn funny, I wonder, because if not, it's terrible and makes me want to die a little inside.

It's too much, it looks like an umbrella and a tutu had a baby and then her hair is not good either. Too much ball-i-ness. And the pointy bangs. Yikes.

Naya Riviera:
Another Glee-er who tried too hard. This giant ball hair is much worse than the above, though it is delightfully shiny, and the dress is really something else. A little slutty in the front, a little sleepy in the back (being that it's so puffy Sleeping Beauty could use it as a pillow) and a little cheesy with that weird brooch thing o the slit...and the shoes are very Aniston. Is that a new trend?

Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka:
If you were dating Neil Patrick Harris and you were adopting twins together later this year, wouldn't you look that smug too?

Plus, his boyfriend dresses SHARP. And won an Emmy for his guest starring role on Glee. Smug, hell, I'd be downright obnoxious.

Nelsan "Hookah" Ellis:
Again, another True Blood-er. And not a boring tux. All fun style and jaunty hat and velvet and stuff.

He won an Emmy years ago for True Blood and he deserved it. He is definitely the best part of that show.

Rose Byrne:
Who?

No, seriously. Who? That dress, like Kim K's is too far on the side of goddess and too much. And for the record, that is another way my hair looks right after I wake up.

BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN. That's who. Duh. How could I have missed that?
Sofia Vergera & Julie Bowen:
I am so glad that Modern Family won for comedy. It is such a funny show. Ty Burrell is blow your mind funny and Sofia is amazing too. Julie Bowen I could live without and sometimes seeing her super-skinny-no-body-fat-ness freaks me out.

Unfortuantely, here, I have to go with Julie's dress. It's very pretty, though black, and it fits her very nicely. I also like her hair. It's a little messy, but not slept in the limo messy and her make-up and accessories are great.

Sofia's though...my god. So polyester tacky. And she has an amazing figure and gorgeous skin and hair and could look good in essentially anything. Unless it's cheap and tacky. Like this. Yuck.

PS - Creepy guy over her right shoulder makes me want to shower.
Tina Fey:
Hands down my favourite dress of the night. You know why? Because it's ornate and gorgeous and train-y and she deserves it. Tina Fey is god.

I'm not sure what's going on with her hair, and I'm not sure I like it, but the dress is so fantastic that I can't complain.

If I could marry Tina Fey I would.

Tom Hanks:
I read a blind item recently about a big star's wife being pregnant and while they were going to talk about getting pregnant being really tough it was going to be a totally fake pregnancy and they had a lab baby through a surrogate or something...or it was a cover up for an underage person...something. Anyhoo. Rita's obvious pregnancy here makes me think of that blind item and creeps me out.

But not as much as Tom's super tailored sleeve. What is with that? Does he have arm anorexia or something?

Toni Collette:
For the longest time I didn't like Toni Collette. I thought she was annoying and heavily lidded and always pouting or looking complainey about something. Now I watch The United States of Tara and I love Toni Collette. She is amazing on that show.

And I ADORE this dress. It's really beautiful and special. I love that printing at the bottom and I love the dusty purple and I love her soft fairy tale hair. Very nice.

Ok, I did it. I'm terribly sorry for the delay but Blogger was being an ass last night and I couldn't save or post anything, so now you have it. And I was right, it takes up the whole first page.

HUGE.
